Platform feature: Warehousing

The warehousing view is a new feature on the Zencargo platform designed to streamline warehouse intake management at destination. It provides a user-friendly interface for viewing and managing delivery bookings, enhancing coordination with existing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and improving resource and operations planning.

What is it?

This feature allows customers to easily view booked and available slots for delivery per location, enabling them to coordinate efficiently with their existing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Access to the warehousing view is available for both customers and admins. 

How does it work?

To find this ‘warehousing’ feature, click on the drop down on the ‘insights’ tab located in the side navigation bar. 

1. Delivery slots are colour-coded to indicate whether they are requested, booked, or cargo has been delivered.
2. Slots are allocated on a per-cargo-item basis, allowing users to track delivery status for individual containers, trucks, or LTL/LCL shipments. This feature is particularly useful when multiple containers within the same booking have staggered delivery schedules.
3. Users can click on slots to access additional route, cargo, and booking information, and can also navigate to the booking details page directly from that window.
4. Users have the ability to switch between different destination warehouses, with the list prioritised based on current weekly activity levels.
5. The ‘unscheduled deliveries’ slide-out provides visibility on cargo approaching destination that needs to be booked for delivery.

What are the benefits of using this feature?

The warehousing feature gives users clear visibility into what will be or has been delivered and when. This helps users plan their warehousing resources and operations more effectively. With better planning, users can reduce demurrage charges by avoiding delays.

Additionally, this visibility improves inventory management. Users can prioritise which stock needs to be delivered first, ensuring that important items are processed on time and keeping their inventory at optimal levels.
